Yes, we should applaud your stupid face, Juan Borgia.
Damn it, David Oakes, I’m not supposed to like this asshole.
Lucrezia was so BOSS in this scene. She is starting to show her fierceness, despite her still seemingly sweet demeanor & soft face.
I don’t know what it is about the women in this series, but Lucrezia is the only one I like.
Well we’ll see more of Caterina Sforza next week, so let’s see if I like her.

Morgana & Juan Borgia. Interesting… Especially because when reading these books called In the Woods & The Likeness by Tana French, I imagine Katie McGrath & David Oakes as Cassie Maddox & Sam O’Neal respectively. She, because she’s Irish & matches the character’s physical description & age, & he, because I think it would be interesting to see him play an entirely decent character for a change.

We all know that the real stars of The Borgias are these three, right?
I mean, Jeremy Irons Pope Alexander, as much as I love your politicking & your shenanigans with your increasingly-entitled mistress & the girl/boy maestro, I watch your scenes in yearning anticipation to see your children appear once more.
Obviously I love Cesare & Lucrezia the best. Together they should rule the seven kingdoms Rome.
But I also have confusing feelings for Juan, in that I find his face obscenely attractive, despite his dickwad behavior & horrendous hair. Damn you, David Oakes, damn yo face! *fist to the heavens*
Oddly enough, my reaction to Francois Arnaud is akin to mine to Kit Harington. I find their faces precious & very good-looking, but I’m not attracted to them.

As much as I love seeing Cesare & Lucrezia being unspeakably but undeniably in love with each other, I do so enjoy this recent, uh, tit-for-tat dynamics between Juan & Lucrezia.
I love that it brought out her vicious streak (“You killed the father of my child, I will impale your lover with the chandelier!”). As Lucrezia was renowned to be the first femme fatale, I would like to see her more brutal side.
In fact, I found it rather odd that Cesare was much too puppy-dog accommodating in terms of Paolo. The only reason that made sense was that he loved Lucrezia too much to be cruel to her lover. She had always been his blind spot, the only one who brought out his softer side. I suppose I could accept the idea of Lucrezia having Cesare wrapped around her finger (like she evidently did also with Pope Jeremy Irons Alexander), just as long as she’s the only one (so no more of this mopey Cesare, obsessively-in-love-with-a-stupid-widow/nun business, okay, Neil Jordan?).
To be honest, I actually found Juan’s response to the Paolo situation to be the more believable and the one that I’d wished Cesare would have taken. A violent overreaction to protect “THE FAMILY”? That should’ve had Cesare written all over it!
I was this close to dismissing Cesare as pussywhipped had he not pull that brilliant fake-cannon maneuver on the French & the Sporzas. That was bluffing with a steely gut, son! Now THAT was the Cesare that inspired Machiavelli’s “Prince”.
“You have no regrets do you, dear Juan?”
“No burning ones, no.”
“Good.”

As much as I love seeing these two brother-sister lovebirds being inappropriate with each other, I did adore this entirely sibling moment, in which Cesare pranked their dickwad brother Juan to make Lucrezia laugh. Adorable.
Could he make you smile?
Can you?
I can try.

ten days of the borgias: favourite couple
Bwahaha… Favorite couple. Indeed. Cesare & Lucrezia Borgia, making people condone incest since the 1400s.

Juan, Lucrezia, & Cesare Borgia - YUM, their relationship is going to be so delicious this season. Here’s to more inappropriate sibling relationships on prime-time TV!
I think as they grew up, that childish rivalry [with Juan] just became something more mature, something more like real hatred now. It’s morphed into something deep and real, and I think that Cesare’s envy and jealousy have escalated, as well. — François Arnaud

Look at Ilithya sitting there like a Roman Goddess.
She really is the Queen Bee of this establishment.
Band of Brothers - “Bastogne”.
Oh look at the beauty, amidst the horrors, of Bastogne. Your finest hour yet, HBO.

Cesare & Lucrezia Borgia.
This is… wrong? Showtime is not trying very hard to keep these two as strictly siblings.

Anyone else thinks they dress the inmates at Alcatraz better than most guys dress themselves nowadays?
I mean, khaki cords, jean shirt over white t-shirt, then black pea coat & beanie for warmth? Niiice.
