Things I liked from Game of Thrones 2.08 “The Prince of Winterfell”: #4 Roose Bolton’s ever insistence to Robb Stark to unleash his bastard.
I don’t like the Boltons in the books. In fact, I may hate them quite a bit. But knowing what Ramsay Snow will do to the Game (& to the titular “Prince of Winterfell”), I am very excited to see him wreak havoc on the show.
If the Greyjoys (or rather, Theon) have “unleashed the Kraken” on Winterfell, then tonight Robb has “unleashed the Bastard” on Theon. Shit, Theon, you better run, dude.

Things I liked from Game of Thrones 2.08 “The Prince of Winterfell”: #3 More Ygritte & Jon Snow.
If someone told me before season 2 began that I would want more Jon & Ygritte, I’d have told them they were nuts, because I couldn’t stand that storyline in the books. But damn it, Rose Leslie! You’re making me really like Ygritte. I love her banter with Jon, which has, most often than not, consisted of her teasing him & his ridiculous rules as a “crow” & him not being able to retort & pulling his characteristic frowny face. The actors really do have an amazing chemistry.
… which is more than I can say for Richard Madden & Oona Chaplin as Robb Stark & Jeyne Westerling (or is it Talissa?). I mean, it’s almost not their fault, since Robb doesn’t have a POV chapter & so we don’t know the exact reasons why he fell in love with Jeyne (or who Jeyne was in the first place). I am admittedly confused about her storyline. Is she really meant to be from Volantis or was she lying?

Things I liked from Game of Thrones 2.08 “The Prince of Winterfell”: #2 Jaime & Brienne: The start of a beautiful [insult-filled] friendship?
I read the books, but I’m more of a big picture kind of gal, so I don’t remember certain scenes in detail & where exactly they appear in the book. However, I believe Jaime & Brienne didn’t travel together until the third book? Because I distinctly remember Jaime not appearing in the second book.
Now, I’m glad they’ve changed it or sped things up, because a whole season without Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s brand of smirky humor? That ain’t gonna fly.
I must admit that I’m only lukewarm towards Jaime & Brienne’s interaction in the books, but from the five minutes of sparkling hilarity we got tonight, I can already tell I’m going to enjoy it portrayed on-screen so much more.

Game of Thrones 2.08 “The Prince of Winterfell” - This episode was really a filler, with many little scenes, setting up for next week’s Martin-penned “Battle of the Blackwater” (WOO HOO!).
However, of the things I did like: #1 Gendry’s back! & he’s wondering why Arya could possibly need this man when she’s got Gendry to boss around.

Jaime Lannister is not meant for captivity.
Despite all the bad things he’s done, he’s still in my top 10 ASOIAF characters & my favorite Lannister.

Sansa Stark is so pretty.
I totally didn’t expect them to show that scene with the dream & the aftermath on the TV show. I just thought Sansa was older on the show & didn’t have the issue, but it was one of the most memorable moments in the book, just because of implication & the horror she felt.

I’d really like to watch this for Chloe Moretz & Eva Green, but I heard the reviews have been terrible.

Once again, the scenery in the beyond-the-Wall scenes is STUNNING!
I must admit that Jon’s adventure in wildling land was not my favorite in the books, but visualized, it really is captivating.

Okay, I must say, Rose Leslie’s delivery of this line was HI-LARIOUS! I am so glad she’s Ygritte. If I had watched her portrayal before reading about the character in the books, I think I would’ve liked Ygritte. So, yes, Jon/Kit & Ygritte/Rose, continue on.
What do you think they’re gonna say when they hear about you and me?
Nothing happened between you and me.
